My Photo Process, Intention and Vision...
The play of shadow and light is such a big part of photography for me. It is an exciting adventure capturing those ethereal and remarkable moments. Finding the shadows then seeing where the light slips in and out and capturing the silhouettes is a marvelous dance to behold.
The shade of periwinkle blue is one of my favorite colors in nature whether it happens at dusk or before dawn. I love that which is imbued with romance and magic. As a photographer, many times because of circumstances and who I was with I have had to experience everything like the wind and take in all the beauty and magnificence as quickly as I could. So I learned to take shots on the fly very well and just seize the glorious moment and make it count, make it feel like all else stood still for that second and breathe it in.
My photographs or artwork express words as images. My intention for my photographs is that they transport one to other places, realms, and realities so that they experience something singular and moving, extraordinary, fascinating or imbued with beauty and wonder. With my Travel Photography I try to highlight all the things that make a country special and unique. By the time I finish a series I want people to feel they have experienced the essence of the land, all the different facets of life - the countryside, the city, the old, the new, the history, the culture, customs, magic and charm. I want someone to feel like they are there with me in full living color and that through my photos, poems and stories they experience all the shades and dimensions of a beautiful land and people.
I also combine my art with my photos. I do techniques where I paint images or paintings on my photo so that it takes the best of both worlds and elevates the photo to something fantastical and compelling. I put the depth of my being, experience, creativity, time, training, passion and love into every photograph and artwork I create. Everything I create is infused with the highest intentions of my soul and positive energy that flows through me that it may be a great benediction to all who behold and experience it.
